Prayers for alcoholic husband

St. Rita and her followers - pray for me and my husband. I'm a newlywed. My husband is an alcoholic and I am enduring many hardships. I love him dearly and although I understand his alcoholism is an illness, I am losing hope. I've tried to help him only to realize that I can't do anything for him unless he wants to stop his drinking. I've experienced much verbal abuse. The stress level in my life is enormouse. I'm seeking assistant with Al-Anon and am lerning to detach from the situation. I can't stand to see what he's doing to himself. I'm afraid he's going to lose his job, get a DUI, kill himself or someone else when he drive under the influence. Please send your prayers my way. . . Sylvia Therese

I pray to St. Rita that she grants your request. You are doing all the right things and I pray that he sees the changes in you to make the changes in himself. You cannot change him but your prayers will help him. wishing you hope and prayer in your faith and strength.

Sylvia, I pray to St. Rita, who is the patron saint of hopeless causes to restore your marriage and for your husband to find sobriety. You are doing what you are supposed to do by attending Al-non and working on yourself. You need to step back and let God work on your marriage and his sobriety.
It might take a hardship such as losing his job, DUI to reach his bottom and open his eyes to God's truth.
Stay strong and in God's love. You are not alone.
